For many homeowners, the start of a new year means creating new budgets that outline savings plans.
Often, being a homeowner requires expenses that will require saving and budgeting, so finding ways to save cash rather than spend it is important. If window replacement is on the list of “to-do” projects in your home, we can help and so can Energy Trust of Oregon! The many benefits of installing their qualified high-efficiency windows include decreasing drafts and air leaks, increasing the value of your home, making the exterior of your home look updated and fresh, and reducing condensation on the inside! Energy Trust just increased their cash incentives this year, too. And that means after installation, you’ll have money that goes right back into your pocket.
What are the incentives?
-Electric and gas-heated homes: $1.75 per square foot of windows installed
(windows with a U-Value of 0.28 to 0.30)
-Electric and gas-heated homes: $4 per square foot of windows installed
(windows with a U-Value of 0.27 or less)
To qualify for the incentive, you will need to fill out an incentive application that includes proof of window size and U-Value which is provided by the manufacturer for each installed window. A copy of the NFRC sticker for each window can be shown for the U-Value, and window size can be proved by showing the packing slip or an invoice from the retailer, contractor, or manufacturer. We are also happy to help you submit this paperwork in order to show documentation of the window size. Right now, the average home can get back between $500 and $800!
And not only is this Energy Trust credit available, you may be able to qualify for an Oregon residential energy tax credit and a federal energy tax credit. All of this means that you will have new, energy efficient windows for a great price! Contact us today for information on these tax credits and incentives, as well as pricing on windows that will fit your home and your budget.
